As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Waste Management, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment vehicles that are essential for constructing landfills, opening cells ready for trash fill, closing cells, and performing site maintenance and closures. This role is crucial in ensuring that the landfill operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be expected to adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures while operating heavy equipment, which includes dozers, front end loaders, compactors, skid steers, excavators, and articulated dump trucks (ADTs). In addition to operating heavy machinery, you will conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on the equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance and inspections is a key part of this role. You will also be responsible for moving and positioning raw materials and finished components using material moving equipment, following standard operating procedures for both operating and maintaining the vehicles.
