About the position

The iOS Developer position is focused on developing and maintaining large-scale iOS applications, particularly in the ecommerce sector. The role requires a strong understanding of the mobile development process, from design to deployment, and involves collaboration with various teams to enhance product features and performance. This position is contract-to-hire, offering the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment with a focus on Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect and code new features for the native iOS app
• Fix defects and address tech debt
• Identify and uphold iOS engineering best practices
• Collaborate with designers & product managers to iterate on the design & implementation of our product
• Work with Backend Engineers to integrate services
• Work with platform engineers to build and incorporate frameworks, shared libraries and common components that grow with the needs of the company
• Monitor app performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems & rectify the issues
• Review app and feature code and plan future app upgrades with the development team
• Implement responsible design principles to ensure that our app renders well on most devices and is accessible
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on large scale iOS applications
• 3-5 years minimum experience with mobile development
• Must have experience with ecommerce applications
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Experience with modern iOS libraries and tooling
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience mentoring junior developers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround times
• Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills
• Business-minded approach to time, costs, and deadlines
