About the position

Doppels is on the lookout for a mid-level product-centric iOS engineer to join our mission of building a birthday gifting engine. In this role, you will be at the forefront of user experience and user interface design, ensuring that our users are always prioritized in the development process. Your passion for creating great user experiences will be essential as you deliver tested, resilient, and performant code in a fast-paced environment. This position is pivotal in helping us achieve our mission by developing, shaping, and iterating on our customer-facing iOS experiences. You will be working on a product that aims to transform the way people express gifting and celebrate birthdays worldwide. As part of a small, highly focused mobile application development team, your responsibilities will extend beyond merely delivering a set of features; you will be accountable for achieving key company goals. This role offers you the opportunity to significantly impact and shape our product development processes. Working within an agile team allows for nimbleness and the ability to deliver value to the business without being bogged down by unnecessary ceremonies and complex processes.

Responsibilities

  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code and beautiful products.
  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Swift and Objective-C code.
  • Ensure and strive for the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
  • Work collaboratively alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in native mobile development.
  • Experience in developing consumer-facing, high-performance iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Strong knowledge of iOS SDK and all of its components.
  • Understanding of design patterns & SOLID principles.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
  • Knowledge of the open-source iOS ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Understanding of iOS design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
