About the position

HireArt is helping an innovative R&D research company hire an iOS Developer who is interested in the overlap between technology and the behavioral sciences. In this role, you'll architect systems for building prototypes while collecting and analyzing experimental data from human subjects. You'll also work with software infrastructure engineers and perform tasks related to mobile app development, front/back end web development, and data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering disciplines and an interest in supporting researchers in the Carbon Neutrality department. As an iOS Developer, you'll develop systems to support human subject data collection. You will collaborate with researchers to determine system requirements, as well as to architect and test them. Your responsibilities will include iteratively developing user interfaces to showcase research ideas, web-based survey applications, and mobile apps capable of collecting, archiving, and analyzing data from sensors. The position requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines, and an interest in supporting the collection and analysis of human subjects data. Native mobile app experience, particularly with the latest iOS and SwiftUI, is a must. Full iOS stack experience is essential, as many of the projects involve piecing together different front-end and native background components to create novel user experiences. A prototyping mindset is necessary for building solutions that are robust enough to answer a steady stream of scientific questions. You must be able to integrate a mobile client with complex web services and APIs, and be detail-oriented, able to work independently as well as in groups. You should enjoy collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and be proactive in seeking out new opportunities for impact, as time permits. Strong time management and prioritization abilities are also required, along with a willingness to learn new skills.
