We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior iOS Engineer to join our team as the third hire. You will work closely with our CEO/CTO who has a proven track record of launching four successful #1 social apps like Gas, Poparazzi, NGL, and Monkey. Your primary responsibility will be to help build and scale our iOS application from the ground up, contributing to all aspects of the development process. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a product that prioritizes connection and kindness over all else. In this role, you will develop and maintain our iOS application using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, ensuring it's optimized for performance and user experience. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to define the product roadmap and architecture, lead the development of the app's frontend integration, and contribute to all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial design and architecture to deployment and scaling. You will also mentor junior engineers as the team grows, ensuring code quality and best practices are maintained. Staying updated with the latest iOS technologies and trends will be essential to ensure our app stays at the forefront of innovation. Additionally, you will contribute to the culture of our company by embodying our values of kindness, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our iOS application using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, ensuring it's optimized for performance and user experience.
• Collaborate closely with the founding team to define the product roadmap and architecture.
• Lead the development of the app's frontend integration, working with our GRPC API, ensuring seamless communication between the frontend and backend.
• Contribute to all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial design and architecture to deployment and scaling.
• Mentor junior engineers as the team grows, ensuring code quality and best practices are maintained.
• Stay updated with the latest iOS technologies and trends, ensuring our app stays at the forefront of innovation.
• Contribute to the culture of our company by embodying our values of kindness, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an iOS engineer with expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of features and products from start to finish.
• Startup experience is highly desirable, and a track record of building and scaling applications in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for social connection and a deep belief in our mission to foster genuine human interaction through technology.
• A team player who is eager to collaborate, innovate, and grow with a small, mission-driven team.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong backend knowledge with experience in Node.js/TypeScript or Rust with a strong understanding of database connectivity.
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure setup, particularly using Terraform and Docker.
