About the position

The iPhone Division at Apple, Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated and innovative System Analog Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in the development of future iPhone products, focusing on the design, implementation, and integration of various analog function blocks and subsystems. These include critical areas such as power management, audio systems, battery management, and sensor integration. As part of this creative and upbeat team, you will engage in multi-functional interactions with internal hardware and software teams, contract manufacturers, and integrated circuit (IC) vendors throughout different stages of product development. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multi-functional team to ensure seamless integration of function blocks within the system. Additionally, you will engage in hardware prototyping and demonstrations, participate in drafting and reviewing datasheets for various ICs, and follow through the entire IC design cycle, which includes design reviews, bring-up, bench characterization, and bug tracking. Responsibilities

  • Work with multi-functional team for function block system integration, including schematic and layout reviews, production test support, manufacturing support, and system validation.
  • Perform hardware prototyping and demonstration.
  • Participate in datasheet drafting and reviews for a variety of ICs.
  • Follow through IC design cycle, including design review, bring up, bench characterization, and bug tracking.

Requirements

  • 5+ years overall experience in the industry.
  • Strong analog/mixed-signal fundamentals (noise, linearity, signal-integrity in mixed-signal systems).
  • Deep understanding of mixed-signal building blocks (speaker amp, codec, microphones, op-amps, filters, ADCs, DACs, output drivers).
  • Familiarity with low-power electronics/sensors/sensor-interface circuits.
  • Experience in prototyping, characterization, and debugging of mixed-signal hardware.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both verbal and written communications.
  • Experience with digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, I2S, PDM, etc.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Matlab and Python.
