About the position

The IT Project Manager at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising technology-related projects. This role involves managing project objectives, deadlines, and budgets while ensuring quality control and effective communication among stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will coordinate resources, oversee project teams, and ensure successful project delivery through comprehensive planning and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT project portfolio and develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
  • Define and execute project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide financial reports on project status.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful elements.
  • Coordinate project teams, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities and effective resource utilization.
  • Communicate project expectations and deliver regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to ensure project success.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and manage the IT risk register.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in IT project management managing complex IT projects from conception to completion.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday).
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development life cycles.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
