About the position

The I.T Technical Project Manager is responsible for defining job activities and requirements for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, reporting, and implementing project activities within a PMO environment. This role ensures alignment with company strategy and goals while facilitating IT projects, product management, budget alignment, and service level management. The position requires leadership and coordination to support key PMO activities, including program planning and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all projects administered by the PMO adhere to best practices and standard approaches defined in the project management methodology.
  • Manage change and promote continuous improvement of project management related processes.
  • Guide project stakeholders in defining project scope, charter, and other project deliverables.
  • Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports, and plans are relevant, accurate, and complete.
  • Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all projects.
  • Maintain and update the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support a PMO.
  • Develop positive relationships with managers and staff to enable the PMO to provide support including facilitation, tracking, and reporting on projects.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive adherence and adoption for global delivery methods for consistent delivery to meet or exceed project targets and quality targets.
  • Supervise and prioritize daily tasks and performance of assigned staff.
  • Define, oversee, prioritize, and report staff activities and relevant metrics.
  • Provide guidance to staff in the areas of technical direction, future planning, and standard practices.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience in project management on enterprise level projects with an emphasis on software applications, hardware implementation, and integration.
  • Knowledge of Project Management best practices, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Models (Waterfall and Agile).
  • Bachelor's degree in CIS, MIS, or Project Management.
  • 3 years of hands-on technical experience in Web Development, Custom Applications, SaaS Solutions, Integrations, COTS, and SAP (or other ERP).
  • PMI Certification or other project management certification - preferred.
