The Mohave County Information Technology Department is seeking an I.T. Technician IV to provide advanced technical support for a variety of software applications and automated business systems. This role is critical in ensuring the ongoing functionality and availability of County technology systems. The technician will be responsible for receiving and routing calls through the main switchboard, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize customer downtime. The position involves the installation and configuration of hardware and software, diagnosing and troubleshooting PC and network hardware and software problems, and serving as a consultant to network customers in designing unique business solutions for systems with diverse architectures. In addition to providing administrative support for a LAN/WAN network, the I.T. Technician IV will coordinate the installation of necessary cabling and equipment to support data communication for customers, including network servers and networked PCs. The technician will also be responsible for setting up Internet services, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with PC, server, and network equipment, and coordinating with vendors providing PC/network services. This position represents the highest level of the IT Technician Series, requiring advanced experience and knowledge in the field. The technician will answer the County's main switchboard, respond to inquiries and requests for IT services, and lead users through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of errors. They will define problems, identify and isolate errors, and implement technical solutions. The role also includes taking a lead position on larger projects and more complicated tasks, providing hardware and software support for PCs and network/telecommunications system infrastructure equipment, and administering a multiple server network. The technician will plan and implement network security and data administration, install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and research, evaluate, and test new technologies for existing and proposed network systems.
