About the position

The IT Support Specialist role is a short-term contract position focused on providing direct IT support to employees and clients within a global eCommerce organization. The specialist will handle various technical issues related to PC hardware, printers, RF devices, and software upgrades, while ensuring efficient problem resolution through collaboration with the IT team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct IT assistance to employees and clients, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to PC hardware, printers, RF guns, and software upgrades.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful demeanor always, ensuring a positive customer experience and meeting departmental response time goals and KPIs.
  • Create, maintain, and read documentation related to technology and infrastructure.
  • Use tracking systems to monitor and manage user issues, fulfilling requests courteously and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with IT staff to resolve technical problems and seek help when necessary to quickly resolve customer issues.
  • Adhere to company guidelines for software use and report any illegal usage.
  • Deliver, ship, and track equipment repairs; maintain accurate records of equipment location changes.
  • Notify management of any substantial delays in resolving issues and provide timely responses to help desk calls and messages.
  • Configure, support, and repair desktops, monitors, printers, RF scanners, and other office and warehouse devices.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT equipment.
  • Assist with WIFI networking, supporting SSID, channeling, cabling, and power-related issues.
  • Work with system administrators to support DHCP, DNS, mail, operating systems, and application configurations.
  • Handle troubleshooting of RF devices, including mobile devices, operating systems, and hardware components (e.g., batteries, triggers).
  • Escalate critical business system issues that may impact operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in providing IT support for PC hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with printers and RF devices.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Experience using service desk tracking systems.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of network support, including WIFI and cabling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a global eCommerce environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of systems administration tasks.
