About the position

The Desktop Tech, II position involves performing configuration, installation, and repairs of PC hardware and peripherals under strict supervision. The role focuses on ensuring that end users have the necessary support for their desktop technology needs, including data migration and troubleshooting hardware issues. The technician will also assist in setting up PCs for special requests and provide guidance to desktop support teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration, installation, and repairs of PC hardware and peripherals according to established procedures.
  • Contact end users to define data migration requirements and perform data migration if required.
  • Monitor for trouble tickets and coordinate with appropriate vendors for equipment repair if needed.
  • Adhere to and enforce facility security measures, company safety standards, and software licensing procedures.
  • Assist in setting up PCs and related peripherals for special requests.
  • Lend guidance to desktop support teams on hardware-related issues.
  • Perform own work and provide assistance to others as directed.

Requirements

  • A+ certification or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a PC-related field, including experience in hardware configuration.
