About the position

The IAM Administrator role involves planning, developing, testing, and documenting computer programs with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, particularly using Okta. The position requires extensive experience in IAM tools and processes, and the ability to lead technical and project teams. The role is remote but candidates must be local to Austin, Texas, and involves advanced computer systems analysis work, including user requirements analysis and system automation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, test, and document computer programs related to IAM.
• Evaluate user requests for new or modified programs and determine feasibility, cost, and compatibility.
• Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
• Formulate plans outlining steps required to develop programs using structured analysis and design methodologies.
• Perform advanced IAM programming and systems analysis work under minimal supervision.
• Coordinate planning, budgeting, and analysis of user requirements and procedures.
• Implement management and automation of processing or improvement of existing systems.
• Perform business use case analysis and recommend solutions with Okta.
• Conduct hands-on technical design, configuration, development, integrations, and troubleshooting of IAM/Okta solutions.
• Automate Okta solution deployments and user onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Document data flow and deployment architecture diagrams for Okta integrations.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to ensure best practices are applied.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with Identity and Access Management tools and processes.
• 8+ years of experience with IBM Security Identity Manager (ITIM/ISIM) or similar IAM software.
• 8+ years of analytical and organizational skills to gather and analyze facts and propose solutions.
• 8+ years of experience in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• 8+ years of knowledge of IAM and LDAP best practices.
• 8+ years of experience in designing, configuring, and implementing Okta solutions.
• 8+ years of experience with authentication methods such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
• 8+ years of experience in onboarding applications into Okta.
• 8+ years of experience in implementing user life cycle management with Okta.
• 8+ years of experience in securing access for applications, devices, and users.
• 8+ years of experience in integrating applications using Okta Gateway.
• 8+ years of experience in migrating users between directories.
• 8+ years of experience in implementing Okta integrations in multi-tenant environments.
• 8+ years of experience in automating Okta solutions using Jenkins or related technologies.
• 8+ years of experience in implementing cloud-based solutions with AWS and expertise in authentication using Okta.

Nice-to-haves

• 8+ years of experience with Federated Identity Manager (TFIM/IFIM) or Single Sign-On (ESSO).
• 8+ years of skills in written and oral communication, including public presentations and technical writing.
• 8+ years of experience with RSA IAM, Oracle IdM, or similar technologies.
• 8+ years of project management skills and ability to establish project goals.
• 8+ years of experience analyzing complex federal and state legislation related to IAM projects.
• 8+ years of experience in technologies such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, Python, SQL, and Linux.
• 8+ years of experience in integrating Okta with Single Page Applications using JWT and OAuth.
• 8+ years of experience in configuring Websphere or JBoss for authorization using Okta.
• 8+ years of familiarity with LDAP browsers and similar tools.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD methodologies and containerized application deployments.
• 8+ years of security certifications.
