About the position

The IAM Programmer is responsible for the hands-on technical design, configuration, development, integration, and troubleshooting of Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions, specifically using Okta. This role involves automating Okta solution deployments to ensure high-quality software delivery and managing user onboarding and offboarding processes. The position requires extensive experience in IAM tools and practices, with a focus on collaboration with various teams to implement best practices and methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on technical design, configuration, development, integrations, and troubleshooting of IAM/Okta solutions.
• Automate Okta solution deployments to deliver high-quality software.
• Implement user onboarding and offboarding processes with seamless communication between directories and applications.
• Document data flow and deployment architecture diagrams for Okta integrations.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to ensure best practices are applied in design and deployment.
• Provide technical oversight, review, and quality control throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with Identity and Access Management tools and processes.
• 8+ years of experience with IBM Security Identity Manager (ITIM/ISIM) or similar IAM software.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to analyze facts and propose solutions.
• Experience with 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management and LDAP best practices.
• Experience in designing, configuring, and implementing Okta solutions.
• Familiarity with authentication methods such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
• Experience with onboarding applications into Okta and user life cycle management.
• Experience in integrating applications using Okta Gateway and migrating users between directories.
• Experience in implementing automation for Okta solutions using Jenkins or similar technologies.
• Experience in cloud-based solutions, particularly with AWS, and expertise in authentication and authorization using Okta.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Federated Identity Manager (TFIM/IFIM) and Single Sign-On (ESSO).
• Skills in written and oral communication, including public presentations and technical writing.
• Experience with RSA IAM, Oracle IdM, Java, JavaScript, and various LDAP repositories.
• Project management skills and experience managing IAM projects.
• Strong skills in analyzing complex legislation and operations issues related to IAM.
• Experience in integrating Okta with Single Page Applications using JWT and OAuth.
• Familiarity with Websphere or JBoss configuration for authorization using Okta.
• Hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies and CI/CD methodologies.
