About the position

The Account Manager will drive Myers' organic growth efforts in the Food & Beverage IBC market, leading strategic sales objectives and fostering long-term relationships with key accounts. This role focuses on selling innovative packaging solutions to major brands, ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving profitable sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers profitable volume growth.
  • Negotiates and administers all pricing and contract negotiations with customers.
  • Drives partnered innovation concepts through Buckhorn's New Product Development team.
  • Develops and nurtures strong customer contacts and ensures positive relationships within multiple levels of customer management.
  • Identifies direct product and market research to protect current market position and develop new markets for existing products.
  • Translates and quantifies the value proposition by aligning product positioning to customers' corporate strategy.
  • Creates customer-specific action plans with key accountabilities and timing.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel to meet account performance objectives.
  • Develops strong relationships across all functions including senior leadership and new product development.
  • Proactively assesses customer needs and competitive threats.
  • Interfaces with other functional department heads to provide current information on competitive market conditions.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Supplies advice and assistance to the Sales Manager and other functional areas.
  • Ensures brand consistency.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of strategic sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment required.
  • Experience in Food manufacturing environments (client or supplier side).
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA Food Safety standards and requirements.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for producing processed food.
  • Previous experience developing and closing new business opportunities utilizing a hunter mentality.
