The IBM Maximo Solution Architect position at Entergy is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the innovative development of business solutions through IT, enabling the business to meet its objectives effectively. This role requires a solid understanding of available IT technologies, the operations of the business unit, its operating model, capability needs, and the challenges it faces. The Solution Architect will work closely with Entergy's Enterprise Architect (EA) function and IT Centers of Expertise (COE) to create a fully integrated and effective business solution. As an active thought partner, the architect will collaborate with the EA and Business Unit Chief Information Officer (BU CIO) to shape technology demand within the business unit. The position will provide support for the Maximo application and its interfacing applications, engaging key business partners including Nuclear, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Accounting. In this role, the architect will assist in creating design guidelines for software and hardware integration, performance, reliability, operating, and security designs. They will support business units in developing project business cases, capturing business capability requirements, functional requirements, and expected service levels to create an actionable business-IT roadmap for Maximo. The architect will also create integration points for new business solutions with legacy systems to meet client requirements. Additionally, they will support BU CIOs in identifying opportunities for emerging technologies that can enable business strategies and provide advisory support regarding the impact of new technologies on existing technical and information system environments. The Solution Architect will work with Business Analysts (BA), Project Managers (PM), and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to review test strategies and ensure that business and functional requirements are maintained throughout the development and configuration process. They will regularly visit business units to assess satisfaction and identify follow-up education opportunities, considering alternate delivery models to meet business needs. The architect will act as a liaison between clients, vendors, project management, and the technical team to address questions, issues, and revisions to the solution architecture. This role may also involve other duties as needed to support the business's needs.
