About the position

We are seeking a skilled IBM MQ Specialist to join our dynamic SRE & Platforms team in New York City. This role focuses on managing the post-trade IBM MQ platform and infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of messaging systems, and collaborating with DevOps and SRE teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the post-trade IBM MQ platform and infrastructure.
  • Set up and configure MQ channels to support business processes.
  • Provide on-call support to address and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the SRE team to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Implement best practices for middleware and messaging systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree from a Top 40 Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
  • Proven experience with IBM MQ in a similar role.
  • Strong background in middleware, DevOps, or messaging engineering.
  • Experience in financial services (Bank, Trading Firm, Asset Manager, Fintech, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SRE principles and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
