About the position

The ICBM Training Device Technician II at Westech International Inc. is responsible for maintaining and repairing Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Missile Procedures Trainers (MPTs) and related training devices. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and instructing Air Force personnel on the operation and care of training systems. The technician will utilize technical knowledge and skills to solve routine problems and ensure the functionality of training equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Follows specific instructions to assemble or construct simple or standard equipment or parts.
  • Conducts tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, and recording metric test data.
  • Extracts engineering metric data from prescribed sources and processes it using basic mathematical methods.
  • Applies technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs missile training system electronics and mechanical systems.
  • Performs periodic preventative maintenance on various training devices.
  • Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Tracks calibration dates and maintains inventory of precision measurement equipment.
  • Instructs Air Force personnel on the operation and care of training systems.
  • Researches, updates, and creates lesson plans for educating peers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • US Citizenship and favorable background investigation results.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • 4 years of technical trade school or military technical school with at least 4 years of related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior military experience in the Electromechanical Maintenance Team (EMT) or Electronics Laboratory (E-LAB).
