About the position

The Software Tester position at HigherEchelon, Inc. is a critical role within the Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration Directorate (S3I). The primary focus of this position is to support the sustainment and development of the Institutional Conduct of Fire Trainer (ICOFT) and the Radar Training Device (RTD). The Software Tester will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive test documentation, which includes Test Procedures, Test Readiness Reviews, and Test Reports. This role requires the tester to develop instructions for testing new features and bug corrections based on customer requirements, ensuring that all aspects of the software meet the necessary standards before deployment. In addition to documentation, the Software Tester will facilitate communication between multiple teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the testing process. The role involves verifying the functionality of hardware after software and configuration changes, conducting and executing testing events for software upgrades, and meticulously documenting and presenting the results of these tests. This position is essential for maintaining the quality and reliability of the software products developed by HigherEchelon, Inc., and requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage time effectively while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with Atlassian Suite, Jira, Bitbucket, Git
  • Experience with Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong writing ability
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Time management capabilities
  • Active Security Clearance
  • BS degree in engineering, or related field, and 0-3+ years of related test experience
