About the position

The ICPC-OTI Specialist at Kids Central, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting families and children within the child welfare system. This position is responsible for managing the Interstate Compact for Placement of Children (ICPC), Out of Town Inquiries (OTI), and Transfer of Jurisdiction (TOJ) processes. The specialist serves as a liaison between Kids Central and contracted case management agencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination for the oversight of protective supervision cases. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to maintain relationships with various stakeholders and to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of requests.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison for ICPC/OTI/TOJ processes at Kids Central Inc.
  • Receive, review, and process all ICPC/OTI/TOJ requests, ensuring accuracy and maintaining tracking logs.
  • Assist case management in processing and resolving complaints related to ICPC/OTI/TOJ.
  • Develop weekly reporting mechanisms for home studies and complete monthly activity reports.
  • Research operating procedures related to ICPC/OTI/TOJ and communicate policy updates to agencies.
  • Testify in court proceedings regarding ICPC and OTI inquiries as required.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers, responding to communications within 24 hours.
  • Complete monthly mileage reports and manage time effectively during the work week.
  • Attend meetings and training to update knowledge related to ICPC and OCS duties.
  • Assist with quarterly reports and Quality Assurance activities as designated.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and ability to pass a Level II Background Check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service skills and good working knowledge of the Florida child welfare system.
