About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer at Chugach Government Solutions is responsible for overseeing all contracted Operational Technology (OT) devices and systems on the ICS network. This role involves managing a variety of monitoring and control systems, ensuring their functionality, and providing expert guidance to team members. The engineer will work closely with management and customer leadership, acting as a subject matter expert in SCADA and Energy Management Control systems.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all current SCADA/EMCS system installations and assets, upgrades, repairs, changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance activities for the SCADA/EMCS system in coordination with management and the customer.
• Support the integrity of the System Security Plan and create Corrective Action Plans for identified issues.
• Maintain support accounts for patches, upgrades, troubleshooting, and escalation related to the contract and SSP.
• Develop and submit documentation required to execute SCADA/EMCS work and illustrate full functionality with completion of work and testing.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose errors and inconsistencies with endpoint devices and integration into the SCADA environment.
• Diagnose network communication issues and perform necessary corrections.
• Verify accuracy of data, equipment, metering values, and alarm points.
• Troubleshoot issues within various Programmable Logic Controllers and HMI systems as required.
• Provide guidance and support to other team members in the upkeep of SCADA/EMCS systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field and at least 7 years of equivalent related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with at least 13 years of experience, or at least 15 years of equivalent related experience without a degree.
• In-depth knowledge of OT systems and controls, including power metering, switchgear controls, automation, Programmable Logic Controllers, and HMI systems.
• Experience with large scale, distributed node SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of various protocols in Industrial environments (Modbus, DNP, SNMP, Bacnet, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience in a Subject Matter Expert role.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to various situations.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain required intelligence community level clearance.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.
• Ability to team lift up to 50lbs.
