About The Position

As an IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator (Part Time) you will have the opportunity to do the following: Database Management: Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security.

Requirements

• 4+ years' experience as an IDMS Database Administrator with broad experience with legacy versions of Mainframe Server platforms.
• Experience and certification with COBOL a plus.
• DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• CompTIA Security + certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch updates and configuration changes.
• Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.
• Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture.
• Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols.
• Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
