About the position

The IES Senior Business Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in the Integrated Enterprise System Office (IESO) by engaging in advanced technical and analytical work focused on the review and redesign of business processes and the configuration of enterprise software, specifically the SAP system. This position is responsible for producing workable solutions and resolving complex issues for key Commonwealth agencies, ensuring the effective operation of SAP modules such as Plant Maintenance and Flexible Real Estate. The specialist serves as a single point of accountability within the Bureau of Business Operations, exercising broad decision-making authority to support the Commonwealth's business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuity and discipline within the IESO Plant Maintenance Team.
  • Handle the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of SAP software.
  • Maintain and enhance business processes supported by SAP modules.
  • Provide expertise to align SAP functionality with agency business needs and priorities.
  • Make recommendations to support requirements within the Commonwealth's ERP framework.
  • Serve as a single point of accountability for the Bureau of Business Operations.

Requirements

  • Five years of professional work in a business operations area; or
  • One year of professional work in a business operations area, and a bachelor's degree in public administration, business management, information systems or related field; or
  • One year of technical work in the review and redesign of business processes and the configuration and design of enterprise software in an SAP environment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
