About the position

The Agile Product Management Sr. Advisor serves as the internal voice of the customer, responsible for the scope of work that the IFP Agile Release Train (ART) will complete, along with the Program Level vision and roadmap. This role requires a deep understanding of business objectives and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery of product features. The incumbent is recognized as a key decision-maker and advisor within the organization, utilizing creativity and professional knowledge to manage risks and dependencies effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product(s) they support
  • Work with business owners and technical leaders to ensure engagement and support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize features and requirements
  • Maintain and refine the inflow of work to the team (product backlog)
  • Assist the team with decomposing features into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Assess business value and prioritize Program Epics, Features, and Stories
  • Ensure clear communication of customer/stakeholder needs in Program Epics and Features
  • Attend team and program ceremonies (e.g., Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning)
  • Support adoption of appropriate tooling and best practices for product development lifecycle

Requirements

  • Agile certification is a plus (i.e. SAFe Product Manager / Product Owner)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery and Agile development methodology
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration across multiple functions and departments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with technical and non-technical partners
  • Creative thinker with problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Rally
  • Experience in stakeholder management
