About the position
The Ignition Engineer position at Actalent involves working with the Ignition SCADA platform and requires a strong background in object-oriented programming languages. The role focuses on writing and debugging PLC code, performing maintenance and troubleshooting, and integrating various industrial systems. The engineer will work closely with industrial networks and data collection tasks, contributing to projects in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Write and debug Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) code in accordance with programmer work instructions or customer requirements.
- Perform corrective maintenance, non-routine repair, modification, troubleshooting, and calibration of PLC/HMI code and system components.
- Commission industrial networks and establish stable communication between PLCs and their network components, switches, and ancillary devices.
- Integrate ERP/MOMS/MES systems with HMI/SCADA systems.
- Configure industrial network equipment for reliable and secure plant-wide communication, with a focus on SDNs.
- Handle industrial data collection and IIOT tasks.
Requirements
- Experience with OOP languages such as Python, Java, VB.Net, and C.
- Proficiency in Inductive Automation's Ignition SCADA platform.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Hands-on experience building ETL packages.
- Ability to write and debug PLC code.
- Experience with industrial data collection/IIOT.
- Experience configuring industrial network equipment for reliable and secure plant-wide communication.
Nice-to-haves
- Aviation experience is a plus.
- Must be able to commute to Asheville, NC.
