About the position

As an Ignition SCADA Solutions Architect at 3MD Inc., you will be a key member of the Services team, collaborating with Consultants, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure customer success. Your role involves translating business requirements into process-aligned designs for software solutions, leveraging your multi-product and multi-industry domain knowledge. You will provide technical expertise, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive the design and development of major solution components while ensuring effective project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for proof of concepts and demonstration/prototypes.
• Work with Pre-Sales and Account Managers on opportunities, engaging with customer stakeholders to analyze business goals and needs.
• Generate documentation to support rough order of magnitude (ROM) and Statement of Work (SOW) creation.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
• Set and manage stakeholders' expectations, demonstrating thought leadership.
• Drive design and development for major solution components.
• Understand the context of customer projects and their key deliverables.
• Lead the application of Solution Definition, Systems Architecture, and Solution Enablement elements.
• Provide accurate and timely information to the project management team.
• Contribute to quality and phase gate reviews as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing processes for design and development of solutions.
• Experience working in a customer-facing environment for at least 10 years.
• Technical leadership skills with a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, VBA/VBScript, and Python.
• Knowledge of software release management across multiple environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Team Foundation Server and/or Jira.
• Knowledge of Ignition SCADA systems and implementation.
• Familiarity with MES interfaces and third-party automation systems.
