The IHBT Community-Based Clinician position at the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is a vital role that involves working closely with youth, families, and community partners to provide advocacy and support. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and their families. The clinician will operate under the general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or designee, and will be responsible for delivering mental health therapy, case management, and other professional services to clients in their homes and communities. As a Community-Based Therapist, you will manage a small caseload, providing in-home services to youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements. You will meet with each client 2-3 times per week, coordinating and monitoring services across various sectors including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services. Regular reviews and modifications of youth-based plans will be necessary to ensure consistent progress towards written plan goals. The role also involves establishing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin, assisting in family reunification and stabilization efforts. Safety assessments, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services will be part of your responsibilities to ensure the safety and stability of the youth served. This position requires daily travel and a flexible schedule, including the possibility of non-traditional hours to meet client needs. In addition to direct service responsibilities, the clinician will be expected to engage in ongoing training and education, and will have access to supervision hours for those working towards independent licensure.
