About the position

The Illustrator II position at Wolverine involves capturing high-quality images and videos that support the US Army. The role requires proficiency in various art media and the ability to execute drawings based on rough sketches. The Illustrator will work closely with clients to understand their vision and deliver photographs that reflect their unique personalities and moments. This position is integral to the creative team, contributing to projects that require a strong sense of design and branding.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality images and videos of individuals, families, and groups supporting the US Army.
  • Set up photo shoots and direct subjects during the sessions.
  • Edit images to meet client expectations and ensure high-quality output.
  • Execute drawings in various art media such as pen-and-ink, pencil, and oils based on rough sketches provided by others.
  • Develop a background knowledge of the subject matter for illustrating assignments, particularly in medical, scientific, or technical fields.
  • Assist Creative Services managers with administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, illustration, or industrial design, or related experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in graphic design in a branded content, agency, editorial, or marketing environment.
  • 5+ years of print-specific graphic design experience.
  • Strong conceptual abilities and a sophisticated sense of color and layout.
  • Excellent knowledge of design, typography, and branding fundamentals.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications on the Mac Platform: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Management experience with at least 1 direct report.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of InDesign scripting and automations.
  • Experience in additional Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as XD or After Effects.
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront and Microsoft Teams workflows.
  • Experience with the creation of Bynder templates.
  • Experience with Fiery Digital Print Server outputs.
