About the position

The Illustrator, Thrive Intern position at Duolingo is designed for second-year undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Illustration or a related field. This internship offers hands-on experience in illustration projects, technical skill development, and mentorship from experienced Duolingo artists. The role emphasizes creativity and collaboration, contributing to Duolingo's mission of making education universally accessible.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and in small groups to complete challenging illustration projects.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on training, workshops, and lectures from Duolingo artists.
• Receive coaching and mentorship from a Duolingo Studio Artist.
• Partner with others who share a passion for making the best education universally available.

Requirements

• Second-year undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Illustration or a related technical field graduating May 2027 (or December 2026).
• Completion of at least two college-level design courses.
• Experience illustrating in creative software such as Figma, Photoshop, or other comparable software.
• Must have a portfolio of relevant projects to be considered for application.
• Available for a full-time 10-week internship from June to August.
