This role involves developing complex models and simulations, evaluating system performance, and supporting ground and flight test efforts. The engineer will work closely with a skilled team to ensure the successful implementation of GNC solutions in various scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and test GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products.
  • Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations.
  • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities.
  • Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities.
  • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.

Requirements

  • MS degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.
  • Experience in developing and/or verifying complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Matlab, and Python.
  • Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing.
  • Proficiency with C++ programming, Matlab, Python, and Linux.
  • Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.
  • Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems.
  • Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF).
  • Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements.

Benefits

  • Flexible work schedules including condensed work weeks.
