The Imaging Assistant at Froedtert Hospital plays a crucial role in providing patient-centered care across various areas of Imaging Services. This position involves a combination of clerical and patient care duties, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and assistance during their imaging studies. Clerical responsibilities include reception tasks, wayfinding, registration, insurance verification, and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The Imaging Assistant is expected to utilize proper phone etiquette while communicating with patients and staff. In terms of patient care, the Imaging Assistant is responsible for clear and detailed communication with patients, both over the phone and in person, to prepare them for their imaging studies. This includes monitoring inpatients, assisting them with basic needs, and transporting patients to and from the imaging department. The role also involves assisting technologists in performing imaging studies and other duties as assigned. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to concentrate while performing care and resolving patient care problems. Candidates for this position should have at least one year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Special skills required include the ability to use general medical support equipment, good listening skills, and proficiency in standard office equipment such as computers and document scanners. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy is also essential. Additionally, candidates must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
