About the position

The Imaging Assistant at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City plays a vital role in providing direct patient care in accordance with established standards of practice and the Mercy Code of Conduct. The Imaging Assistant is responsible for various tasks, including managing supplies, stocking, cleaning equipment, and assisting with patient care in the Imaging Services department. The role requires performing related duties as assigned, all while adhering to the mission, values, and service standards of Mercy. In this position, the Imaging Assistant will be expected to engage with patients and provide support during their imaging procedures. This includes lifting, moving, and transporting patients safely, as well as recognizing emergency situations and adapting to stressful environments. Effective communication is crucial, as the Imaging Assistant will need to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless care experience. The role also involves physical demands, such as prolonged standing and walking, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. The Imaging Assistant must be proficient in basic computer use to manage patient information and assist with administrative tasks as needed. Overall, this position is integral to the Imaging Services team and contributes significantly to the overall patient experience at Mercy Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care consistent with established standards of practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current BLS certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport patients safely.
  • Capability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
  • Proficient in basic computer use.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed for job duties.
