About the position
The Imaging Patient Representative (PRN) at Cook Children's Health Care System is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors within the Radiology department. This part-time role involves managing multi-line phone calls, processing requests for the release of protected health information (PHI), and maintaining the integrity of the Radiology Medical Record and Image Library. The position also includes assisting in the training of new employees, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Manage multi-line phone calls and assist customers present in the department.
- Process requests for the release of protected health information (PHI) as per State and Federal laws.
- Maintain the integrity of the patients' Radiology Medical Record.
- Organize and ensure the integrity of the Image Library.
- Assist in training new employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Computer skills with typing proficiency of 40-50 wpm.
- Entry-level experience in a hospital Radiology Image Library and Release of Health Information preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- CPR - Family and Friends certification within 30 days of hire.
