About the position

As a Support Merchandiser with American Greetings, you will play a crucial role in our mission to help people celebrate life's special moments. This position involves servicing the American Greetings Department in various retail locations, ensuring that product displays are well-maintained and visually appealing. You will be responsible for merchandising and maintaining all product displays within the greeting card department, as well as other areas of the store as needed. This role requires effective time management skills as you will be working in a fast-paced retail environment, collaborating with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours. Your responsibilities will include using a company-provided tablet to perform essential job functions such as reviewing weekly service tasks, conducting inventory functions, and entering time. The position offers flexible work scheduling, with an average of 5 hours per week, which may increase to 8 hours per week around holidays. Additional support may be required in the territory, necessitating availability for multiple days in succession and increased hours per day based on business needs and project-based assignments. Training will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the retail merchandising field.

Responsibilities

  • Merchandise and maintain all product displays within the greeting card department and other areas of the store as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment utilizing effective time management skills.
  • Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime retail business hours.
  • Use a company-provided tablet to perform basic job functions, such as reviewing weekly service and tasks, inventory functions, and time entry.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Access to reliable transportation as most routes have multiple retail locations.
  • Access to reliable internet to receive critical job information and updates.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English is required.
  • Meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and the day before and after major holidays.

Benefits

  • Starting pay of $12.20 per hour with two increases during the first year of employment.
  • Pay rate increases to $12.90 after 6 months and $13.50 after 1 year of continued employment.
