About the position

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher at Neelsville Middle School is responsible for providing instructional support in the absence of a regular teacher who is acting in an administrative role. This position requires a strong understanding of middle school education, curriculum, and assessment, with a focus on improving student achievement through collaboration and professional development for teachers.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to middle school students in various subjects.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional programs and improve teaching practices.
• Analyze student achievement data to inform instructional decisions.
• Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers.
• Observe and provide feedback to teachers on their instructional methods.
• Coordinate with the content department to ensure effective curriculum implementation.

Requirements

• Must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in education or related field.
• Must meet Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for the appropriate content area.
• Minimum of three years of outstanding teaching experience, preferably within Montgomery County Public Schools.
• Demonstrated experience working with middle school students.
