About the position
The Sr QA Automation Tester is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web, mobile, and desktop applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand application features and testing requirements, executing automated test cases, and integrating testing processes into the CI/CD pipeline. The tester will also debug test scripts, perform regression testing, and maintain documentation of test cases and results, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for various applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application features and testing requirements.
- Execute automated test cases and analyze test results.
- Identify areas for improvement in the testing process.
- Integrate automated testing processes into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.
- Debug and troubleshoot test scripts to ensure accurate execution.
- Perform regression testing using automation tools to verify system stability after updates.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, and results.
- Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution of identified defects.
- Suggest and implement best practices for test automation and overall QA processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation testing.
- Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or similar frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman or SOAPUI.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
