About the position

The position of Night Caregiver at Right at Home Monterey Bay involves providing essential personal care and support to seniors and adults with disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety during the night shift. The caregiver will work in a compassionate environment, equipped with necessary protective gear, and will be part of a reputable home care company with over 25 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with transferring/moving clients from place to place throughout their home
• Performing housekeeping activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying clients on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
• Providing medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Offering dementia care
• Engaging in companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Requirements

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• 1 year of experience in Personal Care duties and bathroom and incontinence assistance
• Willingness to commute to Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Ben Lomond areas of Santa Cruz County
• Possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
• Pass a background check
• CNA license, Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide certification preferred
