At KIPP Chicago, we are dedicated to creating joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students for their future paths, whether that be college, career, or beyond. Our mission is to work collaboratively with families and communities to ensure that our students not only achieve academic success but also develop the skills and confidence necessary to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to a more just world. Our campuses are strategically located in neighborhoods such as Austin, Englewood, North Lawndale, and West Humboldt Park, and we also support over 2000 KIPP alumni through our KIPP Forward program. KIPP Chicago is recognized as the highest-performing network of schools in Chicago, as evidenced by our city's school quality index. We pride ourselves on attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse and talented staff of educators who are committed to our mission. The role of the Multilingual Learners Teacher (ESL) is crucial in our commitment to high expectations and collaborative learning. This position is designed for educators who are bilingual in Spanish and licensed to provide direct instruction to English Learners (EL). The teacher will be responsible for ensuring that students not only keep pace with their peers in core academic subjects but also develop proficiency in English according to their individual ACCESS goals. The EL Teacher will work closely with the Director of EL Services for coaching and support. In this role, teachers are expected to embody key mindsets that promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement. This includes planning and executing rigorous lessons, actively monitoring student progress, and maintaining open communication with families. The teacher will also be responsible for designing learning plans based on ACCESS language test results, providing targeted instruction in various subjects, and preparing students for the ACCESS assessment. KIPP Chicago values a growth mindset and encourages teachers to reflect on their practices to enhance student engagement and academic success.
