About the position

The Teacher position at Lake Seneca Elementary School is responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students in a supportive environment that fosters their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. The role involves supervising students, monitoring their outcomes, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders including parents and the community. The teacher will also develop and modify instructional plans to meet diverse student needs while maintaining necessary records and ensuring the proper use of educational materials and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
• Create an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Supervise students in various school-related settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet student needs.
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Requirements

• Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Benefits

• Salary range between $62,558 and $127,334 based on education and experience.
