About the position
The position is a full-time role at ALDI, requiring an average of 30-35 hours per week. The starting wage ranges from $21.50 to $27.50 per hour, depending on the shift and schedule differential pay. The job primarily involves working on the first shift, starting at 7:00 AM. There are various schedules available, including Schedule A1, A2, B, C, and D, each with specific working days and pay scales that increase annually over a five-year period. The role requires the ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation, emphasizing the importance of efficiency in selecting and receiving incoming stock to fulfill orders from stores. Employees will be responsible for relocating merchandise throughout the warehouse, sorting and organizing products for shipment, and unloading incoming shipments from trucks. General cleaning duties are also part of the job to maintain warehouse appearance and safety standards. Additionally, employees will participate in inventory counts and communicate effectively with peers and warehouse leadership to improve processes. The position requires independent decision-making within delegated responsibilities and adherence to safety guidelines while operating equipment. Overall, the role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of the warehouse and ensuring product quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Selects and receives incoming stock efficiently to fulfill orders from stores.
- Relocates merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines.
- Sorts, organizes, and loads merchandise strategically in preparation for shipment.
- Unloads incoming shipments from trucks/back-hauls.
- Performs general cleaning duties to achieve warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements.
- Participates in taking warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines.
- Cooperates and interacts effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication.
- Provides input to warehouse management regarding changes to improve processes.
- Inspects product and consults with warehouse management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Acts and decides independently within the delegated area of responsibility.
- Assists warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals.
- Performs all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures.
- Follows the ergonomic program according to established procedures.
- Operates equipment according to safety guidelines in performance of essential job functions.
- Notifies management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill in performing basic arithmetic equations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
