About the position

We are seeking an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about immigration law and procedures to join our legal team as an Immigration Paralegal. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our attorneys and contributing to the success of our firm. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in immigration paralegal work, excellent communication and technical skills, and the ability to problem solve and multitask in a fast-paced environment. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to assist with the processing and coordination of all immigration matters, specifically focusing on I-140 employment-based applications (EB-1, EB-2 NIW, EB-3, etc.). Your responsibilities will include preparing petitions and applications for various immigration-related matters such as PERM, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, H-1B, L, E-1/2, TN, O-1, J, and more. You will also prepare responses to complex requests for evidence and maintain oversight of individual caseloads to ensure timely completion of work. Additionally, you will be responsible for researching laws and procedures, keeping track of immigration law updates, managing various administrative duties, maintaining the case management database, and directing client contact through phone calls, emails, and postal correspondence. You will create and maintain reports as needed, assist in client intakes, prepare client mailings, and submissions to various immigration offices. Liaising with government agencies such as DOL, USCIS, and NVC to troubleshoot issues will also be part of your duties. You may assist with other department activities as needed and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • Experience in a law office or legal setting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal research and analysis, including Westlaw.
  • Proficiency in document management systems.
  • Familiarity with personal injury law and immigration law.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Experience with legal case management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience providing executive administrative support.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (1 year preferred).
