About the position

The Immunization Nurse Supervisor at Adams County Health Department is responsible for providing nursing leadership and supervision within the immunization team. This role involves overseeing direct reports, developing program directives, and ensuring compliance with health standards. The supervisor will also engage in direct patient care, community outreach, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance immunization uptake and address health equity challenges in the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing leadership and supervision for the immunization team.
• Assist in the development and review of program directives, procedures, and guidelines.
• Monitor budget and program operations.
• Evaluate performance of direct reports and provide mentorship.
• Deliver direct patient care and administer immunizations during clinic visits and community events.
• Educate clients and community members about vaccine effectiveness and safety.
• Collaborate with schools, health centers, and community organizations to increase immunization access.
• Conduct epidemiological investigations related to disease control as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and maintain electronic health records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• 6 years of nursing experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid RN license in Colorado or a Compact State.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in nursing, Public Health, or related field.
• Experience in public health nursing or community outreach.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
