As a Biologic Sales Specialist - Immunology in St. Louis, MO, you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to positively impact patients' lives. North American Commercial is the ‘face' of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients, representing some of the most well-recognized and respected products in the industry while building strong relationships with healthcare professionals. In this role, you will develop superior product and disease state knowledge, effectively educating and engaging healthcare professionals in discussions about clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients. You will function independently with a high degree of sales proficiency to drive sales performance, ensuring that sales forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations. You will also complete training requirements, including product examinations, and maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information relevant to your assigned sales territory. You will work closely with your Regional Sales Director and District Sales Manager to develop a local strategy and business plan aimed at generating recognizable increases in sales within your territory. By capitalizing on formulary approvals and other opportunities, you will implement Strategic Targeting Plans using a variety of promotional resources and analytical tools to maximize effectiveness based on local assessments of customer needs. Proactively identifying business opportunities, you will present value propositions aligned with stakeholder needs and objectives, recommending solutions to drive and develop business. Additionally, you will provide special education to healthcare providers through appropriate programs that adhere to AstraZeneca's ethical guidelines. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate selling efforts with other Biologic Sales Specialists and partner closely with roles such as Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical Science Liaisons, and Thought Leader Liaisons to ensure seamless delivery of our specialty medicines to customers. You will be expected to consistently challenge yourself to grow and develop, seeking feedback to raise awareness of your strengths and developmental needs. By collaborating across functional areas, you will drive win/win outcomes that align with organizational objectives, demonstrating AstraZeneca's values and making sound business decisions based on available resources.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech Sales experience with a track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments.
  • Proven success working in complex cross-functional teams.
  • Strong scientific acumen in a highly competitive environment.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Internal candidates must be at Career Level 3.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated success and achievement in sales performance.
  • Immunology or Rheumatology or relevant Specialty Sales experience.
  • Experience launching new products.
  • Knowledge of the medical, healthcare or pharmacy industry and skills in clinical.
  • Understanding of the specialty pharmacy distribution model.
  • Understanding of the reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologics product.
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in delivering a total office call.
