About the position

As an Immunology Technologist at PAML, a LabCorp company, you will play a crucial role in the laboratory operations in Spokane, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for determining the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria, performing both routine and complex technical procedures, and ensuring that all operations adhere to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. You will also be tasked with monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation to maintain optimal functionality. Your ability to make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving will be essential in delivering accurate and timely test results, which are critical for quality patient care. Additionally, you will prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, perform preventive maintenance, and document quality control procedures. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and you will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Flexibility in your work schedule is important, as you may need to work overtime or adjust shifts based on business needs. Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Bachelor of Science in a Life Science, Medical Technology
  • 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is preferred
  • ASCP or AMT certification is required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
