About the position

The Flight Controller position at GeoControl Systems, Inc. is an entry-level role focused on supporting the ISS Mission Operations Planning team. The primary responsibility is to assist in coordinating, generating, and up-linking plans and materials for the ISS crew, while also performing lead planning integration among various planners. The role involves real-time monitoring of operations and requires training to achieve certifications for supporting ISS real-time operations as a Flight Controller in the Mission Control Center at NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, generate, and up-link plans and supporting materials for the ISS crew.
• Perform lead planning integration among international and domestic planners.
• Monitor real-time execution of the timeline and make recommendations as issues arise.
• Develop mission timelines pre-flight and in real-time for directing the ISS crew and flight controllers.
• Coordinate the development, testing, and deployment of planning software tools used aboard the ISS and in control centers.
• Develop planning products and processes used in plan development and training.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship due to facility security requirements.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and team working skills.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to apply them to real-time operations.
• Ability to respond under pressure as a Flight Controller.
• Pass an Air Force Class III physical for Flight Controller certification.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Willingness to work shifts (nights, weekends, and holidays) and travel.

Nice-to-haves

• Russian, Japanese, or European language skills.
