About the position

The Affordable Housing Senior Asset Manager at U.S. Bank is responsible for managing workout grade Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments and overseeing the disposition process of LIHTC partnership interests. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, conducting valuations, negotiating terms, and ensuring successful transaction closures. The position also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to the overall disposition workflow within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small portfolio of challenged LIHTC investments.
  • Oversee the exit of numerous LIHTC partnership interests annually, including valuations and negotiations.
  • Secure internal approvals and work closely with clients and legal professionals to close transactions.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Assist with the disposition pipeline and teamwide disposition workflow.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary leadership team.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and analytical abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six or more years of related experience.
  • Experience managing LIHTC workouts.
  • Two or more years of LIHTC disposition experience.
  • Thorough understanding of tax credit investment management and Section 42 regulations.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. Bank systems and processes.
  • Experience in real estate asset management and interpreting HUD regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of real estate finance and legal documentation.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
