About the position

The Implementation Manager will lead operations efforts for new business pursuits within the Technology Sector Business Unit at DHL. This role involves overseeing the implementation process from RFP through to post-implementation, ensuring effective project management and operational efficiency. The position requires a strong leader who can coach and develop teams while managing significant travel commitments of up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operations efforts for new business pursuits, collaborating with the business development lead.
  • Conduct design validation including productivities, process times, and staffing/shift plans.
  • Negotiate commercial contracts focusing on KPIs and operational elements.
  • Construct and coordinate the site operations team and non-site based implementation support team.
  • Provide executive updates on project progress and challenges.
  • Oversee support functions such as HR and construction during project implementation.
  • Assist in the development and direct implementation of methods and procedures during start-ups and go-live phases.
  • Facilitate project specifics through workshops and project kick-off meetings.
  • Develop training programs and materials for operational teams.
  • Support the governance of the Cutover Plan in collaboration with the Project Delivery Team.
  • Evaluate operational start-up team roles based on implementation requirements.
  • Ensure statistical reports are applied for measuring processes, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Facilitate workshops to document current and future process flows.
  • Identify, prioritize, and quantify risks associated with projects.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to solve business problems and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and business process validation for automated and warehouse management systems.
  • Monitor and report any changes in start-up scope.
  • Perform operational observations during go-live/start-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in logistics, business management, engineering, or systems.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a project-based environment.
  • Excellent change management skills.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain Concepts.
