About the position

The Project Manager II - Technology at FIS Global is responsible for overseeing technical projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with operational standards and managing project risks. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver fintech solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and improve internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates all aspects of technical projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Manages project initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals.
  • Ensures requirements for internal technology projects align to operational standards.
  • Develops, defines and executes project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
  • Interacts with product development, sales, client relationship teams, technology solutions, and service delivery teams.
  • Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles.
  • Coordinates activities and tasks among project team members and other internal departments.
  • Assigns and monitors work of project team providing technical and analytical support and direction.
  • Manages project risks, issues/problems and activity progress to ensure project goals are achieved.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of recent project management experience including standards, processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • 3-5 years of recent experience with Implementations.
  • Knowledge of industry project management best practices, i.e., PMBOK.
  • Knowledge of various types of project methodologies and life cycles.
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry, e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and company's products and services.
  • Advanced skill in the use of project management software, e.g., MS Project.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing project budgets and timelines.
  • Skill in the use of negotiation techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-7 years of recent HORIZON or MISER experience.
  • A bachelor's in computer science, management information systems or business administration.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
