About the position

The Implementations Network Engineer IV at Leidos plays a crucial role in supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) by overseeing the installation, configuration, testing, monitoring, and servicing of network equipment for Department of Defense networks. This position requires a deep understanding of network hardware and software, as well as the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with DISA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), and execute reporting functions for new network equipment and service activations.
  • Configure and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network using Cisco and Juniper devices.
  • Upgrade software on Cisco and Juniper devices.
  • Create/update project planning documentation for IP addressing schemes and equipment management.
  • Perform systems analysis and consult with users to determine functional requirements.
  • Ensure all information is correct and formatted according to requirements.
  • Verify correct points of contact for each location through which the circuit traverses.
  • Engage with DISA project managers and customers to resolve issues with requirements.
  • Facilitate approvals from stakeholders to ensure progress of service requests.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of various network hardware specifications and testing processes.
  • In-depth network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking architecture and evaluating new technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of data and voice network design and military/commercial protocols.
  • In-depth experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, etc.) and network appliances.
  • In-depth knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-driven to complete assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and team collaboration abilities.
  • An active Secret security clearance is required.
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience at DISA or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
  • Prior experience with SharePoint data entry or order processing.
  • Experience providing customer outreach on service orders.
