About the position

The Import Production Associate will be a key member of the San Francisco Production team, responsible for facilitating communication and collaboration between various departments including Merchandising, Design, Sales, Planning, and Purchasing, as well as managing relationships with overseas suppliers. This role is essential for ensuring timely production and quality standards are met in the apparel manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Daily interaction with Design, Sales, and merchandising planning teams regarding fabric and trim sourcing and development.
• Daily email communication with overseas factories to manage supplier relations, requiring excellent written communication skills.
• Maintenance and issuance of purchase orders (POs) and follow-up to ensure on-time delivery for production orders.
• Approval of colors and quality of fabrics and trims.
• Costing of garments.
• Management of special projects and sampling requests.
• Management of various testing protocols and follow-up troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of applicable experience in the apparel fashion industry, preferably in production, sourcing, purchasing, planning, or merchandising.
• Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Degrees in Merchandising, Textile, and/or Fashion Design are a plus but not a prerequisite.
