About the position

We are seeking a General Sales Manager (GSM) to join the Pohanka Family of Dealerships, focused on delivering an excellent customer experience and fostering long-term relationships with customers. This role is pivotal in ensuring customer retention and profitability within the sales department, which encompasses new and used vehicle sales, finance, and internet sales.

Responsibilities

  • Train, develop, and lead a sales team.
  • Maintain profitability of the sales teams.
  • Manage all showroom activities and ensure high customer satisfaction index (CSI) scores.
  • Hire, motivate, and monitor the performance of the New & Used team, Internet Sales, Finance Managers, and Service Drive Sales.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales training meetings for team members.
  • Coach both new and experienced sales representatives on best practices for improving performance.
  • Ensure proper follow-up of all prospective buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a CRM system.
  • Establish delivery procedures and ensure delivery includes an introduction to the service department and scheduling of the first service appointment.
  • Achieve forecasted goals and objectives for dealership and OEM sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.

Requirements

  • General Sales Manager experience is required.
  • Proven success in coaching and training a team of sales consultants.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to submit to a background check and drug screen.
